Dear Dr. Allen:

I received your letter of August 8th
this morning and I was sorry to learn that I
would be allowed a maximum of only $20.00 per
month this coming year; however, I do fully
appreciate the problem and realize that there
are other boys who probably need work as badly
as I.

I am thankful for the work that I have
had the past three years and hope that my work
has been satisfactory, because I feel that the
two years of actual office experience before my
enrollment at K.U. should have helped qualify
me for work of this nature

I was indeed sorry to hear of Dr.
Elbel's recent illness, and hope that he is
much improved by this time.
