UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS LAWRENCE DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION August 235, 1944, Fm fo mes i « { ? a Coach C. M. Gaumer, Ute, Iowa. Dear Coach Gaumer: I have just returned after a very pleasant visit with you and your fellow coaches at Boone, Iowa. I acknowledge receipt of your payment of $4.00 for my text, "Better Basket- ball". I em writing you now to be very certain of the spelling of your name and your address. The reason I am doing this is that a letter will be re- turned to me, whereas if I should autograph a book it might lie in the postoffice uncalled for, for quite some time. I can be more accurate with a letter. I would Like to know if you would like any special auto- graph, such as “remembering the pleasantries of the Iowa High School Athletic Association Coaching School at Boone, Iowa, on August 15-19," and so forth. Or would you want me to autograph it to the school, or what? If you have any special preference, let me know. If not, I will just make a short introduction with the autograph. If you have any special feature I will be glad to follow that. If you do not want to write a letter just put a footnote at the end of this letter and mail it to me, and if I do not hear from you in a week I will autograph the book with my own introduction and mail the same to you. Again remembering with very great pleasure our fine assoc- lation, and wishing you success for the coming year, I am Very sincgrely yours, ce htop yh 3
