I want to express to you my sincere appreciation of what I learned
from you at the coaching school in Boone. I have always watched

the progress of your ball clubs with much interest, and I have

found them to be, in my travels, one of the best coached basketball
teams from the fundamental standpoint year in and out that it has
ever been my pleasure to see. I had longed for the opportunity to
visit with you, and if I received no more out of the coaching school
than the few moments I spent with you, the time away from my business
was justified. I am not a coach, although I do have a girl's basket-
ball team which is coached by Frank Brody of the Register & Tribune
of Des Moines. However, my interest in all sports have continued

to prevail throughout the years.

I would appreciate very much your autographing my book with your
special autograph and it shall be treasured as one of my worthy
possessions for a long time to come.

I wish to thank you for your time and bother in writing me, and hope
that you have continued success in the coming basketball season.

Peery O&li club. Thought you might like to look the gals over. We were
{defeated in the Quarter finals of the National Tournament by Dallas,
: <4 Texas by the score of 26-25, in a very thrilling game. In your
wmeidiscussions of basketball fundamentals it brought back a very vivid
Beemmemory of this particular game. Some time this winter when we make
mae) a trip to Witchita to play the Boeing Aircraft team we will try to
stop at Lawrence on our way through. I would like to have the girls
meet you.
