Dear Bals I wented to play golf with you before I left for the Iowa Coaching School, which begins early next weeks Wed~ nesday I ran up to Topeka with Me. Hitt, our assistant registrar, to confer with Major Montgomery, of the Kansas Selective Service organization. We finished about noon, so Mr. Hitt and I dropped inte the Pennant Cafeteria for luncheon. I ran across Dre Kirkpatrick and we had a short end pleasant visit. I teld Dr. Kirkpatrick that I still wanted to play golf with you, and I was hoping that you would be in tom when I return sometime around the week-end of August 25rd. If so, I will give you a ring and we will have that long cherished and promised game of golf. ! i am sending you & copy of the letter % i wrote to the basketbell players.
