We are in receipt of State purchase order No. 1827 calling
for two No. 87M Climbing ropes-1s inch diameter with attachment
for wood beam. We in turn have ordered the rope from the
Fred Medart Manufacturing Company in St. Louis. They have
written us today asking that we write you regarding the
distance from the floor to the under side of the wood beam to
which the ropes are to be attached. This information is very
necessary in order that they may know how long to make the rope.

They have also asked for the priority rating. I1+t is our
understanding that schools are priviledged to send an A-10
rating or “Maintenance Repairs and Operations". Also please
advise us the end use symbol. Blanks for. your convenience
are enclosed. It will be appreciated if we may have this
information by return mail. .

Honestly, I doubt if even the shipyards could supply "gunboats"
in the size which you require. We have nothing as large as lo,
and there isn't a Chinaman's chance to get them made on special
order under present manufacturing restrictions.

We do have a few pairs of size 14, so about the best suggestion

I can make is that you get a pair of these for “Suitcase Simpson"
and convert them to the popular toeless style instead of the old-
fashioned toe lace style!

As you know, for some time we have been trying to secure
two #N288 Turf Bowlingsets for you but have never been able to
get delivery on them from the factory. We have just learned
that there will be none of these sets available. The factory
has written us that the government has stopped all production

' on these setas as they use materials essential to the war ef=

fort, and therefore, will not be able to complete any orders.

We are certainly sorry to have taken so long to get this
information. May we suggest that if you planned on using the
Turf Bowling set indoors that you consider the Rob-o-ling set
which is listed in our new catalogue just off the press. You
probably have a copy of it by now but if it did not reach you
it should within the next day or two for they were mailed out
this week. This set is shown on page 105. It consists of

10 official maple pins, 2 walnut skulls with button skids.

Its price is wholesale $19.85. Also ideal for indoor use is
#N286 bowling set. This set consists of ten molded sponge
rubber pins and three sponge rubber balls. It can also be used
outdoors very satisfactorily. If you find that either of these
would be all right for your use, we could make immediate deliv-

the basketball shoe. Apparently, it was filled without
looking inside the box and that is where the mistake
occurred.

There was only one pair of shoes the size 14
left, and that was the black Converse leather, which
