Allen Physical Education Department University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: Our re-string department advises us that the two rackets sent in to us to be re-strung are not worth the ex- penditure of $1.60 each. These rackets are quite old and the frames are in such a weakened condition that it would be impossible to pull the strings tight without completely breaking through the wood. Please advise us if you would like to have us ship you two new low priced rackets to replace these. We are holding the two rackets, your property, until we hear from you. Our sug- gestion would be that you instruct us to destroy them rather than go to the expense of having them mailed back to mo as they are absolutely useless. With kindest personal regards Yours for Victory, - Chas. A. Burke, Jr. Mgr.
