l. 96 TOWA STATE BOWLING GREEN CLUB Information - Rules - Regulations The number of active members will be limited to 150. 01d members will have first chance to join each year before new members are accepted. The bowling green must not be played on exdept at scheduled periods. Bowling should not be engaged in immediately after a heavy rain. If ground is soft a heavy mat will be used on which to deliver the bowl, the rubber mat being placed on this in regular position. - Visitors and non-players shall not enter on the green while bowling is in progress. Cigaret and cigar stubs, matches and other foreign substances shall not be dropped on the green. All persons playing on the bowling green shall furnish and wear rubber soled shoes with no heels at all. This is very important in order to avaid injury to the surface. The success of this game and the demonstration of its science and skill depends on this playing surface. An experienced bdwler treats his green as sacred ground. The dumping and dropping of bowls in such a careless manner as to cause injury to the surface of the green is forbidden. Persons habitually violating bhis rule may be denied the privileges of the grem. Bowls should be on the ground as they leave hand and not tossed a few feet through the air. Observe discipline on the rink. The skip or his third player only shall be entitled to give a player directions when about to deliver a bowl. Obey the skip. The last players on a rink shall be responsible for seeing that all mats and other movable equipment thereon are properly removed to the proper place reserved for that purpose. The position of ae in bowling club is one of honor and responsibility. He should be a real leader of his team, should cultivate excellence in béwling, should promote good team spirit, good sportsmanship and the development of all those other qualities so necesaary to successful play. 10. ils It is desirable that the leads and seconds in a rink or team game stay at the end until all playing these positions have bowled and cross to the other end together at the same time that the third players, who have been standing with the skips, cross in the other direction to get ready to play. This procedure avoi ds much confusion and is an aid to the players. Requests for intrepretation of the rules may be made to the @aretaker. Players, _: however, are asked to familiarize themselves with the rules of the game as 12.. 13. published by the American Lawn Bowling Association. Members are urged to purchase their own bowls as they familiarize themselves with the weight and bias they prefer. They will thus be better bowlers,and permit those not yet familiar with the bowls they want, to use the equinment on hand, The annual dues shall be two dollars ($2.00). Upon a majority vote of the mem- bers an assessment of $1.00 may be levied. Funds raised by such assessment shall be used to purchase additional equipment or casscs of omergenecy. No more than one such assessment shall be levied in any one year, 14. Members are allowed one guest free each current mohth. Members wishing to bring extra guests than the one allowed each month may do so on payment of a fifty (50) cents per guest per night. 15. Tournament and Regular league schedules will have preferance over other matches. 16. To properly use all courts and equipment, members will register on arrival until a rink is filled. This will give all members a match any night and facilitate @cquaintance. 17. Skips shall meet and arrange a schedule for league matches,
