My dear Dr, Allen:

I have been advised through New York University and also through
Springfield College to write to you in regard to a position as Director of
the General Physical Education Department. I understand that I have been
recommended to you by both these Institutions and should like to make formal
application for the positione

“You, undoubtedly have received my credentials from the Placement
Eureau of the above Institutions, and should like to say that if there is any
additional information you would like to have me furnish I will be glad to
forward it to youe

It have had twenty years experience in the allied fields of
Physical Education including Health Education, Athletics and Recreation.
During these twenty years experience seventeen years were spent as Director
of the Physical Education Department. .

My training has provided me with experience in all phases of work,
including High School, supervision of the Public School System, Teachers
College, College, and University Programse I am well qualified to direct the
work in general Physical Education, Professional Training in Physical Education,
and Recreatione tama native of Kansas, and graduated, as you will note in
my educational background, from Kansas State. I played on the Varsity Baseball
and Football teams while a student there. I am sure we have mutual acquaintancese
Although we are not personally acquainted I have known you and your work for
many years, especially those excellent basket=ball teams you had at Kel.

Mike Ahearn and Guy S. Lowman were my former coaches years ago
and are familiar with my work and study since graduation.

Dre Ae K. Aldinger, Director of Health and Physical Education for
the Public School System of New York City was formerly Professor of Education
at the University of Vermont, where I served as his Assistant for three yearse
I presume there is a letter from Dr. Aldinger in the mail, furnished from the
Placement Bureau of New York University, but should you care to write him direct
I am sure he will be only too glad to write to you in regard to my qualifications
for the positione

Louis S. Schroeder, Superintendent of Recreation for the City of
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is also in a position to give you first hand ‘information
