CHAIRMAN GRADUATE COUNCIL, July 1, 1937 Dr Forrest C Allen University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr Allen: Ce How are you progressing with the matter of appointments on your staff concerning which I wrote you about a month ago? Not having had any reply I am assuming that you did not find the ap- plicant recommended highly desirable, consequently I am taking the liberty of including herewith the credentials concerning one other man in whose qualifications I believe you will find many, if not all, of the requirements for the appo'ntment you have in mind. I am referring to Mr. H. 0. Dresser whose personal address is 56 Pierrepont Street, Brooklyn, New York. Dresser is now forty years of age, 5' 8", weight 145, unmarried. He is a native of Kansas, having graduated from the high school in Manhattan and also from the state college in the same place. This was in 1914 that he received his B.S. degree in general science. He came to Springfield and secured his Bachelor of Physical Education, since then has been attending various summer schools and graduate: schools. From the New York University he received, in 1955, his Master of Arts degree and has almost completed his work for the doctorate at New York University now. I will give you a brief summary of his experience: 1917-1918 he was in charge of the physi- cal work of the Englewood High School; 1919-20, director of recrea- tion in a large industrial concern in Southbridge, Massachusetts; from 1920-24 he was director of athletics in Technical High School in Springfield, Massachusetts; 1924-25 he went to the public schools of Winchester, Massachusetts as supervisor of physical education; 1925-28 he was at the University of Vermont as assistant director of physical education and coach of varsity sports. This is where he served under Dr. Aldinger who was then the director there, and who now is the director of health and physical education for the public schools of New York City, with his address at 157 East 67th Street. From 1929-32 he was at the State Teachers College in Pennsylvania as director of physical education and athletics. He then came back to New York City and took a part-time proposition and studied at New York University in the graduate field. For two or three years now he has been director of the recreation training schools, 107 Washington Street, New York City, and has from every report which I have been able to receive scored a very decided success. At my request he has prepared for himself an outline of his training and experience which I am enclosing herewith as a separate credential. I believe with this information in hand you will be in a fair position to estimate his qualifications. I might say that
