Dear Dr. Allen:

I was in Miami in January when the new Governor sent me
wire to go to work. He gave me my choice of two director—
-ships. I never expected an appointment and am delighted
with my new work, the type of people I come in contact
with, my beautiful sunny office and frankly it beats
plowing by a long shot.

If you will send the enclosed letter to me marked per-
-sonal 1 expect I can have the Governor make an inves-
-tigation of this matter and should the investigation
prove satisfactory send it along to Washington.

I am most happy in my new surroundings. Eleven years of
rest is really a long time. Any orders for foot devices
are taken care of by my wife at the farm. Unfortunately
she is not overworked. —

If and when you get to Atlanta I want you to be sure to
pay me a visit.
