Dear "Phog"s

In lining up your order for the basket ball shirts - = I am
taking the liberty to change the lettering in one small manner but am
giving you the story herewith so that if you wish to correct me on my
contention you will have ample time to do so.

: The front numbers on your old shirts measure three inches in
height. I happen to know that these shirts which you purchased from
Junior Coen are perhaps some six or eight years old and I think since the
time you purchased them the rules have been changed making it mandatory
to have at least four inch size numerals on fron and six inch size numerals
on the back of playing shirts.

Now then, do you want me to put four inch numerals on the front

_ or let them stand at three inches in height as they were on the old shirts?

It is most certainly your privilege to make the final decision on this
minor detail.

I know there are many shirts on the courts nowadays which are
truthfully in violation of the wording of the rules and I have often wone
dered if some competitive coach would complain to the officials about this
violation just what would happen. I would hate to have to be the official
to make the decision.

Since talking to you on the phone yesterday morning someone
of your boys there in the department called and gave me the respective
numbers which are to be placed on each of the playing shirts, and for your
information I am making shirts for the following players three inches longer
than regulars: Black, Anderson and Petersone These boys range from 6 foot
45 inches to 6 foot 63 inches in height and I feel confident some additional
length in their shirts will be welcomes

I wish I could give you some sort of a definite answer as to
how long it will take us to make these shirts up for you but I am estimate
ing it will be about three weeks. Iwas told only yesterday that we have
four thousand basket ball shirts on order in our factory right now and believe
