Dear Dr. Allen: I have just heard of the extremely regrettable oc- currance in connection with your visit here last week to address: the boys of our basketball team. I am terribly embarrassed by the conduct of Lyons vandals who caused you that great inconvenience, and want to offer the apologies of this organization. I am certain that none of the group which attended the banquet is guilty. Your talk to us and the boys there was thoroughly appreciated and for days after was much commented upon by all who heard you. I know that all the boys there were much impressed and would not have been guilty of the vandalism after hearing you, even if one of them might have been so crude before -- but all were inside the dining room before you arrived. I sincerely hope you do not hold that mean trick against tne town of Lyons. s very truly, ae os ¢ fs kK, Babcock, President Bé BKB/t
