Dear Dr. Allen:

Word has come to me that Dr. Elbel is leaving
the University to take a position with theService.
This will no doubt create a vacancy in the Intra-~
mural Department. In the event you decide to hire
a man to teach, and another man to administrate
the affairs of the Intramural Department, I should
like to apply for the position.

I worked in the office under Dr. Elbel for a
full year, and I believe he was satisfied with the
work. Also I made an "A" in his course in Adminis-

tration of Intramural Athletics. In addition to
these facts I have permanent draft deferrment.
