Dear Mr. Allen; I believe my parents talked to you last Friday about my situation, so this will just elaborate on it a little. I graduate from high schodl this spring and I am finding it necessary to finance my own way. through college. I am applying for one of the Cooperative House Scholarships and an N.Y.A. job, which if I get I will be able to come to K.U. I am very anxious to come to K.U. because I think it is aa very good school and I would like to go to school here in Kansas. I have played basketball with Roosevelt High for three years Last year and the year before we were defeated in the Regional Tournament after winning the District Tournament, but this year we won the Regionals and got third in the State . I was named on the Class B All State Basketball Team, but I think I was awfully lucky in that. Anyway I would like La Veryy well if I could take a shot at the Kansas University Team. If you could heip me in.any way there at K.U. I would appreciate it very much. If there is any other information which you would like to have I will be glad to supply it. Sincerely, Ylercel! KM. Wendell H. Link, 1217 State Sts, Emporia, Kansas. P.S.. I found that I am eligible for the LaVerne Noyes Scholarships for Bescendents of World War Veterans, and am applying for this also, since every bit of aid financialy helps. Thanks again.
