_THE SALINA JOURNAL SALINA, KANSAS May 21, 1958. Dr. F. CG. Allen, Director of Physical Education, University of Kansas. Dear Phog: il have your letter of the 2lat concerning Miss Ruth Baker as an applicant for a position in our city schools, and I note that she is rated "Humber One" by your women's department. I shall certainly keep Miss Baker in mind and in case of a vacancy in our schools I shall see to ib that her name is given every consideration. As you know, our superintendent of schools has been ill for several weeks and for that reason I am not able to say just what vacancies we may have. However, I shall see to it that Miss Baker is considered in case there are any places to be filled for which she is qualified, Through an error, your two lettersof May 2 were incorrectly filed and I am sorry that they were not answered. I was interested in what you had to say concerning our Agricultural Hall, out in Kenwood Bark, which was shown to you by Sturat Dunbar. We are giving this hall consideration as a school proposition but there are several angles that must be given consideration. Our board of education has been giving some thought to a new senior high school and its location and size would have a bearing on what utilization we might make of the Agricultural Hall. Howewee, I was glad to get your judgement on the hall and Ft may be that we will be able to work out a satisfactory plan that will include it in our athletic set-up. With kindest personal regards, I am, Yours sincerely, Sees SW indo f
