~COUNCILMEN A. B. Burks Charles Kaegi Charles Wiard Paul Earnheart F. B Strickland MAYOR * (yo beso> = : CITY CLERK De Soto, Kansas ‘nin anion C.H.Linden Jan. 22nd, 1940. Mr.F.C.Allen, Lawrence, Kansase Dear Mr.Allen:— As the first semester of the school year draws to @ close,I have been wondering if it would be too much trouble to ask your apinion as to the advisibility of having my two boys,Gene and Charles continue in school. I relize that you are very busy at the time of the year but I do not know any one else to whom I might go who would or could give me this infor- mation and be perfectly honest and fair. I relize too that it is not every one who is fitted and able to take a college education but it has always been my hope that my children could do better than I did, therefore I am wondering if the two boys are of college caliber. Also I would like to know just what the cost will be,or as nearly as you can tell, because I am going to have to secure financial backing for them if they are to continue. Thus far they have each made his own way and other than the enroliment fee and books,I think they can continue to do so. Thanking you for yor interest and co- operation thus far and trusting that the request is not asking too much of you or yor time,I am Yours truly Boe
