My dear good friend:

: I promised you that I would send you the statement

by Gremtland Rice concerning college football and its
future. This is taken from Mr. Rice's article on page 45
of the Official Football Guide of 1945 published for the
National Collegiate Athletic Association.

I wish that I might have had a longer time to dise
cuss this matter with you as I am sure that we have some
common points of interest. There are a lot of things wrong
with meny things, and only by honestly meeting them and
fearlessly discussing them ean we do ere about these
troublesome problems.
