Missouri Alpha opened the 1945 season with 3 returned members who were all veterans
and initiated by the Alumi-last April. After a 4 aay rush period, the chapter had 10
pledges whom we introduce at this point, Dick Bietling and Carl Speckman both of West-
port High in K.Ce$ Chuck (Ed) Milliken, a veteran from Joplin, Mos; Robert Mueller, 17
from St. Louis, Moe, Fritz Albrecht 18 from Brooklyn, N.Y. and a top notch piano play-
er (glad we did not sell our piano); Dennis Thompson, veteran from Unionville, Moe;
Charles Hoch, 23, and 4F from San Antonio, Texas, Will Jones Graves, a vet of 27 from
Lake Cormorant, Miss., and another veteran John A. Cooper, o4, from Memphis, Tenns

We are pleased to announce that our old favorite Mrs. Dungan is back and any success
we had during rush week was largely due to her fine efforts and wonderivl food she
‘served. We have a fine cook (with Sigma Chi-many years, but likes Mrs. Dungan much
better) also a good houseboy and say can you guess what house-boys get nowadays? » $25

- We wish to thank the following Alums for their able assistance during rush week, Lerry
Winn Jr., and Frank Nutter of Kan A., Craig Ruby, Al Olson, Lyle Willits, Orson He: Lee,
George Newton and. Carter L. Williams.

Some of the furniture arrived a week after rush period, So you can well imagine what
handicap the boys faced in selling the lodge to strangers with such @ set-up, However,
we have a strong nucleus and this fact combined with Mrs. Dungan's fine qualities seem
‘0 assure Missouri Alpha of a prosperous year, February should see the house entirely
full as the entire idh3 chapter has expressed the desire to return to school,
