I am glad that your shoes came in handy» Make good use of them and work
on those fundamentals: that I showed you, and when you get back to ole Ke Use,

ie we'll be using you and those fundamentals.

Iam sorry that the boys got licked so badly at Normans Oklahoma has a
powerful team and they just overpowered the boyss We didn't have enough to
match their steam-roller tactics. ;

I would be glad to have you play around here with your basketball, I
think you could do dome goode We have one good Navy boy, Wendel Clar, from
Dennison Ue Then we have Charlie Black coming back, We have Gene Peterson, a
"rangey" boy from Salina State Champions, and Stroebel, I think, who played at
Washburn last year will be in November lst with the V ie
Bobe He was @ good boy-=played center. Owen Peck. has been called for physical
examination, and they put him in leA, so we will lose hime Then we have a boy,
Ebel, from Hillsboro, a nice big guards So while our team will look very young
and immature, 1 believe we have possibilities of having a better team than last
year, There will be a lot of new faces This is not.a resume of all the play-
ers, but just a line on a few, Gene Peterson, this pla from Nebraska, has

fundamentals of minus 0. He is only eighteen and it will take him a year Iam |

sure before he will be able to handle himsel? with our fundamentalistse All

over the Conference they are crying their head off about Kansas getting Beterson,

and I am getting a big laugh because when the team lines up, I am very sure

_. Peterson will not be in the line-up, and all the boys in the Conference will

have had the ery for nothings

What I started to tell you was that Bob Allen is going to sea in less than
® week, s0 you perhaps will not get to see him for several months, unless you
have already called in the meantimes I know what limited liberty you have, so
I can understand why you haven't had an opportunity to call. e

Dean Nesmith, Coach Shenk and all the football players are at the Wichita

game todaye They left this morning, but I will tell Dean you said "hello" when
he cones back Monday morning. We should beat Wichitae
