y THE DAILY oR LA H OO MA HN Pa OKLAHOMA cy ey TIME s THE FARMER~“STOCKMAWN Phone 2-1211 October 7 Dy, F.C. kien University of Kansas Lawrence, Kan, Dear Doctor Allen: I'm certainly sorry to hear that Kansas will not be able to compete in the holiday tournament. I had been looking forward to your appearance, as I believe the war time emergency is the only thing that will make it possible for the Big Six to allow such competition. I had been hoping that perhaps your boys coulduse part of their Christmas leaves for the tournament, since some of the schools are doing that. Just in case something turns up to alter the situation, I am going to leave your spot open until the first of November, when I will query you just once more to see if there's any chance, It appears we are going to have a fine tournament with eight good teams and I.ve already agreed with Ab Curtis and John Lance as two of the officfals. If anything breaks before November, you'll let me know, won't you? I'll be looking forward to seeing you when you get to Norman anyway--- and if there's any chance of your coming to the tournament personally, we'll certainly welcome you. Yours very truly, Hal Middlesworth
