Dear Phog:

Just read a comment in the paper this morning pertaining to |
the athletic program of the University of Kansas. And thinking that
maybe there might be an opening for a fellow like me that could
assist in a Physical Education, Physical Fitness, intramural, or
Athletie Program I am dropping you a line.

I have been serving for 15 months as the Director of the
USO-YMCA, Federal building, in Tampa until recently when I was
asked by the National U S O to survey the South Coast area for
Mebile Service. I am at present headquartering out of Pensacola
in this work. It is very interesting work but I would prefer
getting baek into College work and would certainly welcome the
opportunity.

- Aw you know I have eoached football (Rice, Indiana, Spring- |
field), basketball, baseball and at Springfield, you are familiar
with their method of each faculty member teaching some subject
in physical education.

I am above the draft age. Leslie Jr., is an Ensign in the
Navy and is at present at Harvard attending the Supply Cerp School.
Believing that a great many of our younger coaches and physical
educators are leaving for Active Service making openings in our
schools and colleges should give me an opportuhity to get back into
college work.

If there are no openings at Kansas that I might fit into, do
you know of any openings in the Big Six or Missouri Valley? Just
before going into USO work I went back to Springfield and picked
up a B.S. on top of my B.P.H. I have my textbook on Baseball to
be used for a Masters almost finished. 7
