Dear Dr. Allen:

I arrived back in Chicago this morning after a pretty busy day
yesterday at Atchison, and am exceedingly glad that I was out

in that part of the country as it enabled me to get some

things straightened out. As is usually the case, the difficulty
was not with the machine itself but some outside conditions.

Mrs. Mons will be writing Mrs. Allen, but I want to take this
occasion to thank both you and Mrs. Allen for your courteous
attention to us while we were in Lawrence and for making us feel
so very much at home. It seems as though we have always known
you.

It is my sincere wish that we shall see a great deal of all of
you in the years to come.

We are looking forward to having you with us in Chicago. With
