Dear Dr. Allen:

I am writing a short article dealing
with the heights of basketball goals in relation to
different school levels. I am hoping that this
article may be published in the near future. In
this article I have used your name and I want to be
sure that you have no objection to the statement
that I have made. The statement is as follows:

"Dr. Forrest ©. Allen, famous basketball coach at

the University of Kansas, has been one of the leaders
who has believed that the height of the basket should
be raised." I have read from time to time that that
is your opinion. I can not at the moment place my
hands on one of your exact statements concerning

this opinion of yours. In any event will you please
advise me as to whether or not I may use the

statement mentioned above.
