Allen Department of Athletics University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Sir: Lou may have forgotten me but I met you at Casper the first year we placed the state tournament at Casper, Wyoming. Sheldon Wingerd of 1122 Ohio Street, Lawrence, Kansas, has made application for our English and coaching position. He has mentioned you as one of his references. I would like to know as much about his character and conduct as his coaching ability. He states he is married and has a daughter three years of age. His masters degree would entitle him to $1650. His letter of application is very good - he might be the man I am looking for. Our athletics are in a definite slump, although we still hold the district tournament in Gillette. If you can't recommend Mr. Wingerd too highly, who could you suggest to fill our position? Yours truly, N. D. Morgan, erintendent NDM/fa
