Dear Dr. Allen:
I was very pleased to receive your letter and a

copy of the basketball schedule for Kansas for
the year 1940-41.

Most of my summer has been spent on the farm
doing physical labor, which should stimulate
my mental ability this coming winter.

I am rather anxious for school to begin again
because I believe I can do bigger and better
things this year.

I wish to thank you again for the many things
you have done for mee I am especially indebted
to you for, without the employment you have given
me, it would be impossible for me to attend
