PAUL MASONER GARNETT, KANSAS ‘ January 16, 1940: Dr, Bas G. Allen Robinson Gym University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: Lf. am writing this letter to let you know how things are progressing here at school. Up to this time I'm enjoying my work a great deal. » It is all very interesting and keeps me continually on’ my toes. One thing which makes it interesting is the fact that something new happens every day which must be overcome or taken in stride. All aren't pleasant and all aren't unpleasant; but it is the mixture that keeps one on the move, At the present in basketball, we have won six and lost one. Two victories and one deféat in the league. I have a swell bunch of kids to work with and I believe the makings of a swell tean, barring unforeseen accidents or happenings, t have seen three of you're games this winter and have been impressed greatly by the team's action. I'm surely hoping as strong as possible for the Big Six Championship, but I realize that no team is a set-up as shown last Friday evening. That must have been a great one to win. On February 12th you play Iowa State at Lawrence and { was planning on bringing some of my boys up since we have no game that week. Would it be possible to get a rate on tickets for them? There are some who have never Seen a Kansas basketball team play and I've told them they've never seen basketball until they do, so they have ,. been on me to bring them up. thanks for your attention. Sincerely
