Dear Brother Morris:

The. theme of this Christmas message is "A Christmas Gift to the Phi
Psise" ry

I desire to be very straightforvard and much to the point to tell
you that Kansas Alpha of Phi Kanpa Psi is in need of a new rug for the
living room, some davenports, some chairs and lamns, a built-in library,
venetian blinds, and repapering on the first floor to make the interior
cheery and harmonious for the bovs who dwell therein and for the alumni
who come back on certain occasions, or for no occasion whatsoevere The
total expense will approximate $1,000.

I have had the genuine pleasure of attending the alumni banquets
each year in the early spring, and I have been thrilled at the wonderful
progress that Kansas Alpha has made. At the present timc her scholar-
ship average is 1.56, and the men's all-school average is 1.27. Phi Psi
is a very representative group on Mt, Oread. During the past year, we
have had two Phi Beta Kapnas, two Sachems, one member of Owl Society, two
football lettermen, thrce basketball lettermen, two track lettermen, and
three cups in intramural fall sports; the cditor of the Jayhawkor, presi-
dont of the Pachacamac political party, prosident of Delta Sigma Pi, and
at the present time there are, inthe chapter, members in Delta Sigma Pi,
Signa Delta Chi, Seabbard and Blade, Theta Tau, Phi Delta Phi, and Nu
Sigma Nu, as well as the business manager of tho Sour Owl.

I have: given you this knleidoscopic picture of young, aggressive and
capable Phi Psis who arc carrying on the fine traditions that they inheri-
ted from your I am so certain thet you want to encourage the boys in their
endeavor and to furnish the homo in keeping with thoir standing, that we
are asking you kindly to fill out «a chock for thoir Christmas ;ift. The .
boys arc worthy and well-qualified, and I am very sure that you will fecl
very proud when you come to 1100 Indiana and soc how woll they have carried
on for youe The current cxpenses of the houso are boing net very promptlye
The debt is being reduccd on schedulc, and the house ‘that you made possible
for them is kept in on cxccllecnt state of rcpairse
