PERRY E. BROWN, PRES. A. B. MACKIE, DEAN BROWN-MACKIE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS TELEPHONE 59 122% - 124% - 12634 South Santa Fe SALINA, KANSAS November 28, 1938 Dr. F. C. Allen Kansas University Lawerence, Kansas Dear Sir: The football season is over and I assure you that I have thought many times of the headaches and jitters the coaches have. I have enjoyed a very pleasant fall and have been just an ordinary spectator admir- ing the great American game. I was fortunate enough to see every team in the valley some time or other during the past season. I am sorry that each coach could not have champions. I still remember the praise when you win, but hell-double when you lose. I might say that as for me, I enjoy my new work very much. In the business school at Salina, we have an enrollment of about 330 and possibly will reach 400 in January. I am directing the school here in Salina. Our school in Kansas City, Kansas, under the direction of Nr. Brown, during the first year will reach 200 students. We feel certain that the enrollment in Kansas City, Kansas, will, within a year or two, surpass the one here in Salina. I really believe that the business school has a future. I am writing this letter primarily to let you know that this year has been very busy, however, I will always love football and basketball and next year I would like very much to officiate in both football and basketball. I hope that if you have the opportunity you will recommend me for officiating. I will not take time to give you my experience in athletics as you know it well. I will appreciate any good word you might say in my favor. Sincerely yours, TPO ee Ae Be Mackie ABM: CW Ja le th ps fo fis / pas i fort aw r - ees Se a J s conan a ad jl ; j a. ko re 7 | . : 20 fm th, oO A | \ a
