It has taken me a long time to get this ball to
you after my promise in my letter written sometime agoe

For me to get the boys’ autographs and to assemble
a box that would insure the safe carriage of the ball ms
taken sometime. However, I assure you that not for cne
moment have I forgotten my promise to your dad, who was
so kind to us upon our invasion of Norman last February 28.
