Dear Doc:

Your good letter of June 9, just came in. It makes me feel
funny for you to say things as outlined in your third paragraph.
Even though I am getting close to 40, Doc, 1 still look at you
in the same light as I did when we were playing basketball at —
the University. I hope I never get any older than that, because
really I don't feel much different than I did then. I can still
get up and play a fairly fast game of hand ball and do most of
the things that I want to.

Yes, Doc, the impression that you made with a lot of young

men still lingers. You look at them as men grown, raising

a family. My boy goes into high school next year - but they still
look at you as their coach. It will be a real pleasure to spend
Friday the 29th with you. Let me know whether Mrs. Allen will
come down. Let me know when you will be here and what time you
would like to go out. I want to make some arrangements so that
everything goes off in ship-shape.
