Dear Dr. Allen:

Under separate cover we are sending you 60 copies
of BETTER BASKETBALL at your discount of 4.0%. These are
going forward via parcel post which is cheaper than express
but not as fast, and we hope this is satisfactory.

Mr. McGraw is away at the present time and I will,
therefore, have to wait for his approval before sending
the ten author copies which you requested. Your contract
with us does not provide for extra author copies and
inasmuch as I am not familiar with your understanding with
Mr. McGraw, I hope you will bear with us until he returns
which should be within a week or So.

I am referring that part of your letter regarding
future advertising for your book to the proper department.
It is our belief, as well, that after the war, athletics
will play an important role in the postwar period.
