Alien Chairman Fifth District Basketball Tournament Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Dear "Doe:" in spite of your kindness and your assurame that expenses would be cared for to Oklahoma City, I find that I will be unable to attend the tournament on Monday as I am going to have to be away for a basketball schedule meet- ing in Appleton, Wis. on Sunday. As that is so far in the opposite direction from Oklahoma City, it would be imposs- ible to get to Oklahoma City for Monday and it might be ridiculous to try to make it for just one day. Much as I regret it, I believe I had better not try to make it for such a short time. I am enclosing an itemized list of the expenses I tave been put to so far and shall appreciate a check when funds are available. I think you have done a fine job in straightening out the tangles which have arisen since our meeting in Kansas City. I am surprised that the Aggies and Oklahoma would have Jack North. If I had thought they wold accept him, I would have sugzested him in the first place. I hope this tournament goes off smoothly and I hope that Ed Lytton will be able to get to San Francisco, so that he will not bé too terribly disappointed. Cordially yours, John C. Truesdale jet :fs
