Since I did not know what the status of affairs was in the Seventh District I asked Dr. Gilmore, as President of the Reeky Mountain Conference, to write Dutch Witte to see just what the situation was. I have just received a copy of his reply and in it he states that the University of Colorado would probably be invited to participate in the Tournament. This I think is apprepriate under tke method of selection of teams as it has been worked out this year, but I do not like the method, and I think we will’ heve a discussion of the whole matter at @ meeting of the Executive Committee of me WeCeAsAe this coming Saturday. You know, of course, that I have no desire nor inelinat tion even to suggest to the athletic authorities at the University of Colorado what they should do in. & na btor guch as this, I do feel, how« ever, it is i + if the Netional Collegiate is to sponsor a championship that the most represen+« tative teams compete, I think this Tournament will become, if properly handled, an a event nationally a you know how strong a believer I am in the necessity for a national organization, such as the N,CsAsAs to run : championship events if we concede at ail the necessity for their being ruts in that regard I have always felt, as you know, that.
