Dear President Daviess

Professor W. B. Owens, president of the
N.C,A.A., has suggested that I write to you concerning
the western play-off of the N.C.A.A. which will be
held on Tressure Island March 20 and él.

The advance information which I have re-
eeived from the chairman of the tournament committee
in your district indicates that in all probability
the University of Colorade will be chosen. Press dis-
patches which I have received concerning the play-off
are to the effect that the University of Colorado has
been invited to participate in an invitation tourna-
ment in New York City.

Naturally one cannot depend upon press
Gispatches in this instance. However, I shall appre-
ciate your co-operation in bringing to the attention
of the officials of the University of Colorado (in
the event that their team is chosen for the western
play-off) the advisdbility of taking part in this
N.C.A.A. event. As the manager of the western play-
off, I shall be very grateful for any boost that you
can give the tournament.
