March 9, 19388 be. F. GS. AlLion Director of Physical Education University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear "Doc:" Thank-you very much for your letter of March 4. Under the plans which you are following to choose the 5th District representative it seems to me that you should have ample funds left over from expenses to handle the expenses of your trip to the Coast. It would seem to me that it would be logical for you to deduct your full expenses from the net re- ceipts of the tournament in Kansas City. I hope that it does not come so close to the other college tourna- ment that the attendance is affected. If you do come to the Coast, I hope it will bepypossible for you to arrive at an early date. I would appreciate very much having some one here from the committee who can devote his full time to promo- tion work. I find it very difficult to get time from my new job to devote te athletic purposes. I have recently talked to Olsen and I told him that I thought our grmeral committee should study as much of the tournament plag as possible. I also told him I felt that the whole committee should witness the play in Chicago. At that time we shall desire to review very carefully this whole tournament procedure. Our plans for the future will be affected very materi- ally by our reaction to this present venture. I shall await further information concern- ing your progress in the 5th District. Thank you for your letter and the enclosures. With best wishes, I am Very cordially yours, John Bunn Dean of Men
