Dear Doctor Allen:

We hand you herewith the hotel bill as submitted to this office
by Coach Brannon and would appreciate your returning same for our
files. If for any reason you desire to delate any item, please do
not hesitate to do so. In forwarding your check please make it for
whatever amount you think right.

We were amazed to find at this date that we were permitted
allowances for fifteen men instead of the twelve mentioned in all
your communications. Frankness compells us to say that the oversight
in properly acquainting the competing teams with the factors under
which the competitions were held is most regrettable. In the light
of these circumstances we feel that allowances for fifteen men should
be made to all teams regardless to whether this number were carried
to the competitions or not. It seems on the face of it a gross neg-
ligence in properly organizing the competitions.

I want you to know that there is nothing personal intended in
this communication as we have only the highest regard for all the men
connected with the tournament but we feel that there should be no
occasion for us at this date finding that allowances are permitted one
section not in keeping with the allowances permitted the other sec-

x tions. I again do not hesitate to reiterate that if allowances are
made for fifteen men in the Eastern division, they should likewise be
made for the Western division regardless as to whether fifteen men
competed or not. I certainly think that the men conducting the con-
tests should have been thoroughly aware of the conditions under which
the competitions were held in both divisions and all competing teams
should have been apprised and competed under like circumstances. I
would appreciate having from your committee some expressions regarding
these matters.
