Dear Phog:

If I were you I would drop the Adams matter. There is no question
about the statement which he made to me. There is just a bare
possibility that it might have been someone other than Dean Adams,
i.e. I might have thought that I was talking to Dean Adams when

it was some one else. I feel positive, however, that it was the
fellow who was introduced to me as Dean Adams. There is no question
about the school because he mentioned Fayette.

 

I enjoyed being at the little party for you the other night. I
think it was a very fine tribute to your many years of service
to the University.
