Dear "Phog":

I expect you will begin to get tired of having me
“push on the lines" so much with respect to the selection committee
from your district, but we have the committees set up all over the
country except for yours and that is why I am so anxious to get some
final word as soon as possible.

IT am glad you feel that George Edwards would be a good
member of this committee, I also have a very high regard for him.

With respect to the third member of your committee, I
very much hope you can persuade Mr. McBride to accept. I dontt know
Mr. MeBride very well although I believe I have met him on some oce
casion or another, but I do know he stands very high with everybody
who does know him and it seems to me if we could get him to helo us
in this project that it would be a very fine thing for our tournament

and for Kansas City. :

In talking to him you might point out what I think are
very obvious advantages to Kansas City should we be able to put on
our four team tournament from the districts West of the Mississippi
and perhaps the final game which in turn would probably mean the
designation of Kansas City for the meeting place of the National Ase
sociation of Basketball Coaches. Of course there are other places
such as Denver, Des Moines, etc., where these play-offs could be held
but I feel that Kansas City, if we have the proper seteup backing,
would be the ideal place for both the four team playeoff and the final
game, as well as our convention of basketball coaches.

I certainly hope you can see Mr. McBride without any
delay and am also hopeful he will be able to see that this tournament,
with the official backing of the N.C.A.A., would be a fine thing for
him to support.

Please let me know just as soon as you possibly can.
