THIRTY-THIRD ANNUAL CONVENTION The Association will meet in annual convention December 28-30, 1938, at the Hotel Sherman, Chicago. Final details of the program have not yet been settled, but the general scheme is as follows: Wednesday, December 28 At 6:30 p. m. there will be a dinner, followed by a business session, at which the following will be expected to be in attendance: the Council (that is, the officers, the vice presidents, the members at large, and the Executive Committee), the chairmen of rules and standing committees, and representatives of allied members (that is, local conferences). At this meeting, matters of general policy of the N.C. A. A. will be discussed, informal reports will be given of the work of the more important committees, and plans will be made for the conduct of the Convention of the following days. Thursday Morning, December 29 At ten o’clock there will be an open session which the Football Coaches and the Physical Education Society, meeting in the same hotel, as well as the public, are invited to attend. The speakers will be President Owens of the N.C. A.A., Harry Stuhldreher, Presi- dent of the Football Coaches Association, and Mr. Branch Rickey, Vice President of the St. Louis National Baseball Club. The general topic for consideration is “The Relation of Intercollegiate Athletics to the Public.” Thursday Afternoon, December 29 At two o’clock there will be held a Round Table conducted by Mr. C. E. Bilheimer of Gettysburg College, chiefly for the benefit of the smaller institutions, on the general topic “What methods can the smaller colleges pursue in order to promote confidence and a
