Championship of America 29 Once —A gain DENVER is playing host to the cream of the crop—crack basketball teams from all over these United States that are competing in the Na- tional A. A. U. Tournament. Denver made its bow in 1935 by staging one of the best tournaments on record. This year the committee feels it will be the BEST EVER. Teams are here from every section of the country. They honored Dr. James A. Naismith, inventor of the game, in a stirring parade-of- teams Monday night. The rest of the week they are battling for two coveted prizes—the national championship and a possible trip to the Olympic games as Uncle Sam’s representative. The winner and runnerup at Denver will go to New York for the American finals against six other teams, five college and one Y. M. C. A. We feel the Denver winner will march under the stars and stripes at Berlin. We hope so, anyway. OFFICIAL ALL-AMERICAN TEAM, 1935 Chuck Hyatt, forward. Bud Browning, guard. Francis Johnson, forward.
