HICKOX, SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE SECRETARY-TREASURER April 3, 1940 Dr. Forrest C. Allen Director of Basketball University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear Dr. Allen: You were absent from the convention hall at Kansas City when I turned over the duties to my successor, Mr. Nat Holman, and I at that time expressed my appreci- ation to those men who had served as chairmen of our various committees and whose efforts had so unselfishly been given to make our convention a success. At that time 1 stated that I wished to express especial appreci- ation to you for the great amount of work you did as chairman of the convention committee. In view of the work in connection with the Western play-off and the fact that you were successful in having a team in the final game, you had much additional work to do. I therefore, wish to take this opportunity to express to you my very great appreciation for the fine job you did. I feel that we had an outstanding convention and I heard from a great number of the coaches that they thought it was the best convention we have ever had. Personally, I would be pleased to return the convention to Kansas City again for next year. At least we should have the Western play-off and the final game there. Again thanking you and wishing you continued success, I an, BTG da
