"3, Distances traveled by college players were found to range from 2.25 miles to 2.50 miles in 1931, as against a range of 3.87 miles to 3.97 niles in the present study. Coach Ed Hickox issued the first call for basketball practice at Sprin:field College this week. It marked the beginning of his 13th and last season at the Springfield school. Coach Hickox has reached the retirement age and has re- cently tendered his resignation to becone effective at the end of the season.
