Dear Frank:

Sometime ago you asked me for some word on the N.C.A.A.
Tournament. I am ablo to report at this time that we havo relcased
to the pross a list of the committec appointments and a genoral idca
as to the plan which will be followed in the conduct of the tourna-
ment. I am enclosing a list of the committce appointments.

The general idea which wo plan to carry ovt is that after
the sclcetion committces in each of the cight districts of the
N.C.A.Ashave dceided on the team which will represont that district
sn the National play-offs, that we will bring the represcntatives
from districts 1, 2, 3 and4 together at some point in the East. We
will do the same with the representatives from distriate 5, 6, 7, and
8 at somo point West of the Mississippi. Then the winners in these
two play-offs will play one final game for the N.C.A.A. Basketball

Championship.

We haven't as yet dccided where these play-offs or where
the final game will be held, It is our hope, however, that woe might
have the final game played at the time and place where tho convention
of the National Association of Basketball Coaches will be hold. It
g.ems to me that inasmuch as the coachecs association was instrumental
in gctting tho N.C.A.A. to take on this tournament idea that it would
be a fine thing to tic up that final game with the coaches convention.

Just as soon as we have completcd our plans and settled on
dates, I will got the word to you. so that the coachcs of the ass-
ociation will be able to know what is going on in connection with
the tournament.

T received a requost sometime ago from Bill Chandler to
write something about St. John's work in the development of basket-
ball. I am more than happy to do this but unfortunately up to the
present time I have been too busy to do so, Just as soon as I got
back from the trip from the West Coast, I hope to get something on
to you go you can use it in your bullctin shold you care to do so.
