Dear "Phog":

Have heard from all of the appointees
on committees excépt Murray of Marquette and
McNichol of Pennsylvania. I am sure about Murray
but do not know about McNichol.

You have appointed HE. J. Mather of
Michigan as Chairman of the Officials Committee.
I just received word from him, and he declined
his appointment. I am not surprised. In fact,
I thought he would line up with someone else.
You know who I mean, and he is the only one.
Please appoint someone else as Chairman of that
committee, and I will write to him.

I have written McNichol a second time
and should have heard from him. If we do not
get his reply shortly, I suggest appointing
some one in his place on the Press Committee.

I ghall await your early reply regard-
ing the new appointment.
