Dear Dr, Allen:

Upon the closing of Naval Training School (Electrical),
I find it not only my duty but also my pleasure to write a letter
to all those who have contributed a great deal to the success of
the Naval Training Program,

This school has enjoyed a splendid record with both
the Bureau of Naval Personnel, and Headquarters, NINTH Naval District.
I know that such a record could not have been possible without the
wholehearted spirit of cooperation and generosity which has been
displayed by all Departments of the University of Kansas. It has
been reported that this school ranked along with the very best
schools of the Navy and I believe that this is a record of which we
may all be justly proud.

Dr. Allen, I wish to close by thanking you personally,
in behalf of the Navy staff, for your part in making this fine record
possible and also to express my appreciation for having had the
opportunity of working with you in this important War Program.
