Alien, Athletic Director Kansas University Lawrence, Kansas Dear “Phog": Enclosed is a copy of the minutes of our meeting and a copy of the constitution we adopted. I have written General Pierce and expect to hear from him within two or three weeks. If you approve these minutes and the constiution, and name your various committees, I want to start to write to the Membership Committee to complete their membership. In the meantime I am preparing application blanks which will be sent to the Chairman of the Membership Committee, and I will ask him to send them to basketball coaches throughout all the members'districts. I do not want to let any grass grow under our feet in getting this membership paid up. You know the old saying, "Your heart is where your money is". After seeing you, I again saw General Pierce, and he assured me that this approval would be granted. For your guidance on the Membership Committee, I am reminding you that F. J. Murray of Marquette is to be Chairman of this committee. We had no one listed for the lst District, but I have a very fine letter from D. 0. McLaughry of Brown University saying he will be glad to do anything he can to help this organization and therefore suggest you place him as Chairman of the lst District; 2nd District, Leo Novak, U. S. Military Academy, West Point; 3rd District, Gus Tebell, No. Carolina Aggies, Raleigh; 4th District, John Mauer, Kentucky University; 5th District, we had F. J.
