A. A. SCHABINGER, Director THE CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY Department of Athletics OMAHA June 23, 1927 Dr. F. C. Allen, Athletic Director University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas Dear "Phog": Replying to your letter of June 20, sorry we were not in Omaha so that we could have had a visit and have gone over these various committees. Regarding the Membership Committee for the lst District, I suggest you appoint McLaughry of Brown Uni- versity rather than Cowell of New Hampshire. I had a long talk with Cowell at Chicago, and he said he would do all he could to boost this organization but that he was serving on a number of such committees and would appreciate it if he was not put on any active committee. I have a letter here from McLaughry in which he is very enthusiastic about the organization, and therefore I suggest his appointment. Regarding the 8th District, I leave it entirely to you between Armstrong and Romney. I do not know Romney; I know his brother very well. I know Armstrong, and I am sure he would be an excellent man. However, you decide on that. Hither one is all right with me. Regarding the Program Committee, I suggest that you leave E. J. Marti of Reno on that committee. It will encourage him to be there which will give us a nice re- presentation from that district. Norgren and White will certainly attend the meetings. Press Committee, O-K. Coaching Ethics, 0.K.--By the way, is K. Schlademan coaching basketball at Washington State? I have no suggestions to make on any of the others. I think you -have certainly done a fine piece of work in your appoint- ments. I have written to the four members of the Board of Trustees--just now completed that work at your suggestion. I will let you know as soon as I hear from then. I have a letter from General Pierce asking me for a copy of the constitution. He also suggested that it would be a fine thing to get our various committees organized and get the acceptance of the men who are to work on those committees. The approval of the N. C. A. A.
