TEMPLE OF BASKETBALL This is the architect’s conception of the Naismith Memorial Museum and Basketball Hall of Fame which will be erected at Springfield, Mass.—the site of the first game—in honor of Dr. James Naismith, who invented the game when he was a young instructor at Springfield College in 1891. In its archives will be preserved in perpetuity the names, records, and accomplishments of all the great players and teams of past, present, and future generations. The Naismith Memorial will be open to the public at all times. It will serve to give the great pastime of basketball substance and permanence. It will do honor to a man who has brought pleasure to millions all over the world. It will also be the finest edifice ever erected in honor of a sportsman.
