Dear Mrs. Naismith:

Yesterday I received a letter from Mr. A. Be
Nees, 225 Citizens Bank Building, Brazil, Indiana, informing
me of the death of Charles Wayne Nees who was killed in
action in the North American area on May 18th last.

Mr. Nees stated that he had no further details,
but presumed that his death occurred in the Attu drive in the
Aleutians. Wayne was graduated from the Infantry School as a
Second Lieutenant in November, 1942, and had been at Fort Ord,
California, until about the first of April.

Mr. Nees said that since Wayne had always held
you in such high regard he would appreciate it if we would
let you know of Wayne's passing.

I am sure that you will want to write the Nees
