Dear Dr, Allen:

Thanks for your swell letter in my behalf to the Comman~
dant of the 3rd Naval District. It covered very beauti-~
fully the necessary points. As is customary, either the

F, B. I. or the Naval Intelligence will get in touch with
you soon to confirm this letter or other pertinent informa-
tion they deem necessary. It seems they can't be too
eareful.

The physical examination was passed with a good = to
spare and the doctor in charge, whose name I can't remem-
ber, said he knew the late Dr, James Naismith quite well.
I'm terribly sorry I can't remember his name because he
was quite a gentlemen and to the point.
